Senior Software Engineer Backend (all genders) | Berlin, hybrid or remote

Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Backend developer to join one of our cross-functional, agile engineering team that is focussing on the partner journey at Aroundhome. Our goal is to improve their experience with us and optimize internal tools around partner management & billing for the Sales team.

We are a fresh group of talented people spread across Europe sharing a strong people-focused mindset and strive to understand our users better every time we build new features.

  • As Senior Software Engineer you will be part of a cross-functional, agile team to play an active role in the continuous improvement of our web-based applications and actively develop new software solutions that support our business model, focussing on Backend
  • You directly contribute to reinventing our architecture, stay on top of the latest development trends and drive innovation by assessing as well as implementing new technologies and features 
  • You are a competent contact person for our product managers, give feedback as well as technical input on the user stories therefore help us to create an outstanding product 
  • You understand yourself as a mentor who empowers colleagues through methods of mutual learning, such as pair programming
  • You take ownership for the entire development cycle from testing to go live and always support your team to find the right story split as well as technical implementation 
  • You constantly improve quality by following established engineering best practices such as test-driven development and site reliability engineering
Skills
  • You are an experienced Backend Engineer on senior level, who has deep knowledge in Go and/or Ruby 
  • You share a product engineering mindset, easily connect with different business stakeholders and understand their needs to build valuable features for our users but also don’t shy away to migrate our legacy services
  • You are an expert when it comes to working in microservice architectures and have already worked with cloud environments in agile, cross-functional teams
  • You value "clean code" principles when implementing your ideas and are enthusiastic about backend development
  • You think outside the box and have a strong getting-things-done mindset
  • You strive to improve, whether this is about the code, the team, or yourself, and therefore communicate as well as collaborate proactively 
  • You are an absolute team player, like to share your knowledge and experience with others and appreciate an open feedback culture
